Valentine's Day 2011 - By Chad

So I was thinking that, on Valentine's Day, I would surprise Heatherkins by writing a blog about her. Now that we're finishing out our 7th year of marriage, (see here) I can stop and think about how our life has been so far.

We've gotten to that critical "7 year" mark where couples learn about what each-other are really like. A lot of it probably has to do with kids coming into the picture, and a lot of it probably has to do with changes in work, and other responsibilities. Any anomalies in a marriage that haven't been discussed, are probably discussed at this point. So after all of that, what's it like to be married to Heather?

Well, it's really good! I know of nobody else who has Heather's ability to offer love despite how difficult things can get. I know of nobody else who will commit to their family the way that Heather commits to hers. (Heather's infinite patience with Aidan and Lilah and, of course, me... is the kind that everyone hopes they will be lucky enough to find in the girl they marry.) It's the kind of patience that we all know will lead to a long-lasting relationship where obstacles can be overcome and challenges can be handled. Her patience is the kind that we all remember in our own parents, when we became "teenagers", and that we reflect on as adults and respect them for.

All I know, is that my son and daughter are the luckiest kids in the world, and if I had to be born again, I'd pray for Heather to be my mom. (No offense to my Mom of course. She did a fine job.) So my dreams have come true... since I get to have her as my wife and grow old with her.

Thanks for hanging in there with me baby!

Love,
   Chad

Um, I'm totally blushing, babe!! Wow, when I said all I wanted for Valentine's Day was for you to hijack my blog, I was kind of kidding. Ok, not really kidding... but I didn't think you'd actually do it!!

And wow... you make me sound like I rule!! I DO rule, but that's beside the point. You're pretty awesome yourself, Daddy Pods.

Ok, back to dinner (wish you were here) - Aidan's eating, what else? Oatmeal. And Lilah's sucking down some black beans. Well, they're actually going on the floor, but I'll pretend she's the most amazing eater ever. Come home soon!

Very sweet! Especially considering what other nice husbands have been known to divulge when hijacking their wives blogs. Not that I'd know or anything, ahem.

Happy V Day!
